Georgia LaForme is a 21 year old Anishinaabe from the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.
Georgia started interviewing professional athletes at the young age of 15 when she was writing for the official fan voice of the Toronto Argonauts – the Argos Admirals. From her first interview she knew this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
After few years with the Argos she was recommended to check out the College of Sports Media – a private career college in Toronto with instructors who all work in the sports industry. She graduated from the school in October 2018 earning a diploma in Radio and TV Sports broadcasting. The school helped to make Georgia a very well-rounded professional, as she left confident in her writing, editing, producing, directing and on-air skills.
Her goal is to combine all of her skills and produce digital content for a team, league, network, etc.
She has previous experience in digital media operating several professional social media accounts and websites. To view her previous work experience and her current projects click here.
“My goal is to have a long and successful career in the media. My even bigger goal is to make a name for myself in the media as a positive role model for all First Nations, Inuit and Metis people, as I am a proud Anishinaabe from the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.”
